EDUCATION ADVICE

Education is an important and growing area of the Law Centre's work, with the emphasis on excluded pupils and Special Educational Needs (SEN). Our work covers everything from initial advice to representation at the SEN Tribunal. Other areas of work include school admissions, bullying and non-attendance.

Your child's education is one of the most important influences on their future development and life chances.

But what happens when things go wrong? Few people are aware of their legal rights concerning their children's education. It is important to obtain swift and prompt advice as soon as issues arise which could affect your child's educational welfare.

We offer an initial appointment to give advice to parents and children worried about the following:

• What choice of school do I have for my child?
• Can I teach my child at home?
• What can I do if my child is being bullied?
• What happens if my child doesn't have a school?
• How can I get help for my child if they have special needs?
• Where can I complain if I am not happy about my child's school or education?
• What can I do if my child is excluded?
