Our Crime Team deals with all types of crime at all stages of the police investigation and court proceedings.
There is a drop-in clinic every Thursday (please try to call or email ahead so we can plan for your visit) and we will always give you realistic initial advice from an experienced criminal lawyer.
We will apply for legal aid and if it is granted then you will be represented by an experienced solicitor or barrister in the magistrates court or the Crown Court. We will try to represent you regardless of whether legal aid is granted by way of an initial interview, and by attending court if our resources allow.
Many cases of injustice arise when you have a good case but simply cannot access the criminal justice system to put your case or to put right a wrong that has happened in the past. If your case is deemed to have a point of principle of general application then we will pursue it through the appeal courts.
We deal with cases from the beginning when the police make an arrest or invite you to a police station for a formal interview, and throughout the court proceedings whether it stays at the Magistrates Court or is sent to the Crown Court. We will appeal any unfair conviction or sentence.
We are currently challenging cases as diverse as theft, robbery, burglary, grievous bodily harm, common assault, and non-payment of the TV Licence Fee. We specialise in old confiscation orders, especially those based on a “hidden assets” finding, which are notoriously difficult to challenge. We will try to get your property back that has been seized and retained by the police.
If you, or someone you know, is having a problem with the criminal justice system or is about to be arrested, or is in a police station, or was arrested and released then please contact us 020 8969 7473 or by email firstname.lastname@example.org
