ADVICE FOR COMMUNITY GROUPS
We offer an advice service on Wednesday evenings between 6 pm and 8pm for community groups. You must book an appointment - we cannot see people who just turn up.
Appointments can be made by phoning 020 8969 7473.
We can offer advice on:
- Constitutions
- Employment problems
- Contract law
Priority will be given to those groups with an annual income of less than £250,000 who can demonstrate that they are unable to afford to employ a private solicitor.
If we are unable to help you, the Law Centre may be able to refer you to other agencies that might be able to help you with your problem.

Booking an appointment
You can do this either in person or by telephone. You will be given a time and date to come for advice. If you are more than 15 minutes late, we may not be able to see you. If you are unable to attend for any reason please let us know so that we can offer your appointment to someone else.
How we can assist
In the evening you will be seen by a volunteer at the Law Centre. All the volunteers are employed as solicitors or trainee solicitors at commercial law firms and offer their services free to the Law Centre for the evening advice sessions. You may not contact them at their place of work and you will not be able to speak to them if you telephone or call to the Law Centre.
When you come for your appointment please remember to bring with you any documents or letters that are relevant to your case. If there are a lot of papers it will save time if you put them in date order. This will help your advisor to read them quickly and listen to your problem. They will be able to advise you what to do and in some circumstances they might be able to help you write a letter or fill out a form.
In limited circumstances we may be able to see you again for one further appointment about the same legal matter. After that, we may suggest that you contact another agency for further advice.
Important: Please note that at these sessions we offer advice only - we are not able to take on your case and act for you as your own solicitor, write to or receive correspondence from other people on your behalf.
